39th International Haskins Conference, online, October 31-November 12020

The Medievalist Toolkit hosted a special lunchtime discussion entitled “Rethinking Outreach and Medieval Narratives”. The co-founders presented our methods in the process of development, highlighting the tension between informing on the history of extremist language and feeding extremist recruitment. The discussion that followed was both a productive information-gathering session for the Medievalist Toolkit, garnering perspectives from established academics on the public messages of Medieval Studies, and a forum for the co-founders to offer new approaches to public engagement.
