History in a Time of Polarization, Columbia University, March 20, 2022

This public online event brought together professionals whose work deals with extremism and the alt-right, including scholars, social workers, and journalists. Featuring a keynote address from co-founder and former director of Life After Hate, Sammy Rangel, this workshop fostered an active discussion on different approaches and solutions to addressing hateful ideologies. It was attended by a wide range of scholars, educators, and members of the general public with an interest in the role history plays in the present. Attendees applauded the inclusivity of the event, especially those outside of academia who said they had previously felt isolated from the issues raised.
